Forum: IMAGINE. INSPIRE. IGNITE.
Cross-Border Forum on Environmental Justice and Disinformation
WHERE: Krško, Slovenia
WHEN: Friday, 15 May – Saturday, 16 May 2026
Policy Lab (Slovenia) and the Institute for Political Ecology (Croatia) invite you to a 2-day cross-border forum IMAGINE. INSPIRE. IGNITE. that opens a space for reflection on environmental issues, disinformation, and democracy in border regions.
Why forum?
Border communities also in Slovenia and Croatia today often face a combination of environmental challenges, development pressures, and the spread of disinformation. These dynamics shape public debates, influence policymaking, and affect trust in democratic processes.
The forum addresses these intersections:
- how disinformation spreads in local environments
- how it shapes the understanding of climate and development issues, the role of civil society,
- and how we can strengthen collaboration, participation, and community-driven initiatives.
Who is it for?
The forum is intended for young people between 18–35 years from Slovenia and Croatia who are interested in:
- environmental issues and justice
- media, culture and disinformation
- democracy, participation, and collaboration.
What can you expect?
The programme combines discussions, workshops, and space for informal exchange:
- understanding how disinformation operates in local contexts
- concrete examples of environmental and development-related conflicts
- group work on solutions for more inclusive and informed decision-making
- connecting with participants from Slovenia and Croatia
This is not a traditional conference, but a space for co-creation, sharing experiences, and building new connections.
