On the edge of the #COP27 climate summit, we are announcing great news!
The European Research Council (ERC) is for the project “Pathways towards Post-Growth Deals” (REAL)
awarded 9 million euros!
The project promises the development of the ecological economy in radically new directions. It will enable in-depth research in the field of adulthood and social-ecological transformation. The international research project is based on the premise that the adult transition could enable a more economically stable and socially just future.
This is the first time that such an extensive project has been provided for the theme of growing up! Definitely a sign that adulthood is a scientifically relevant, real and current topic, and the adulthood movement is essential!
The recipients of the project, the Research & Degrowth (R&D) academic association, Jason Hickel (ICTA, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), Giorgos Kallis (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and Julia Steinberger (University of Lausanne) will develop democratic models of care systems that could provide generations with sufficient access to resources such as energy, food, housing, health and social care. They will recognize the political and practical steps to mature political agreements.
